This started with me dropping my phone in the loo (rite of passage to adulthood?).
I considered to live without phone and indeed managed some weeks.
I worried about privacy (mine and people i am in contact with) and my mental health: phone usage, specially commercial social media.
I still had to borrow a phone because of the 59euro monthly ticket (that is how i call it): One can get a subscription on a plastic card, but i cherry pick subscribe and unsubscribe a lot.
Banking also contributed, i considered getting an autentication machine, it costs 28 euros.
The straw was one of the borrowed phones died, and i borrowed yet another and realised the bahn app needs android 9.
I was furious at the absence of accessibility and backwards compatibility, but sucumbed and bought the cheapest phone with maximum memory and version of android i found.
Of course no alternative OS seems to exist for the cheap ZTE blade (correct me if wrong) so degoogling per hand.
More degoogping in my phone.
I had turned off most permissions for google apps. Yesterday i found them turned on again. I dunno if it was me messing while doing some reset or turning knobs elsewhere, or remote intervention, but i lost my patience and conveniently found a "disable" button in individual app controls.
Google play included.
Messages and phone stop working.
Install fossify messages, fossify phone, and while i am it, fossify file manager, galleey, camera, voice recorder and music player.
Fossify contacts and keyboard i reported previously.
Everything fine now.
Now i just need to get rid of the doom doom doom google play messages that my phone is messed because i dusabled google play services..
