Per Ursula von Der Leyen la transizione energetica europea va fatta col "nuclear as baseload", ignorando la letteratura scientifica che indica la fattibilità e la convenienza di soluzioni 100% rinnovabili. Poi dice che dobbiamo liberarci dei "dirty fossil fuels" della Russia, senza dire come sostituire i "dirty fossil fuels" pagati agli USA e la grande quantità di uranio russo e bielorusso usato da Francia e Belgio per alimentare le centrali atomiche.
