Thought I'd share this with the #FinishOrFrogAlong folks, as a helpful tip for "getting stuff done".
The Six Things To-Do List Game
Stuff needed:
1. Blank sheet of paper, or whiteboard, or notes-app-with-a-checklist (I use "Fossify Notes" for this)
2. Suitable writing implement.
3. One six-sided die (or a dice app, I use "Easy Dice" for this)
Instructions:
1. Your writing surface MUST be blank; if there is anything left over from the day before, erase it (or get a new piece of paper).
2. Write down six tasks, numbered 1-6. Write ONLY six tasks. Make sure that the tasks are all independent of each other; for example, if one task is "empty the dishwasher", then you can't have a task which is "load the dishwasher" since the dishwasher has to be emptied before you can load it.
3. Roll the dice.
4. Do that task.
5. Cross off that task.
6. IF you have the energy, you can now add a replacement task for the task you just did. For example, if you just emptied the dishwasher, you can NOW add "load the dishwasher" as a replacement task.
7. Repeat from (3).
You win!
