I wonder if this will lead to any changes in policy / approach...

The Open Rights Group is working on an amendment to the OSA which would propose a small site exemption, for sites that are maintained without a view to profit, with a small number of active users, and which the owner reasonably believes to pose no risk to users.

Whenever I see a proposed solution for "keeping people safe online", I first look to see how the proponent has defined "keeping people safe online".

If there is no clear problem statement, then I assume that the solution is also lacking, and probably not worthy of further consideration.

I must smile at the non sequitur of learning about loads of porn sites, of which I had not previously been aware, through Ofcom's website and its OSA enforcement activity.

What do other UK folks use as an online source of reliable, non-tabloid, edited/collated "mainstream" (as in, not just tech, or sport etc.) national and international news?

I am a bit fed up of the BBC (in terms of both coverage and its website), but I lack a better alternative.

I used to like the FT, and some of the Guardian's reporting.

Tell me what you use, please?
