To be fair, in my not so humble opinion, the answer to, "Which Linux distro should I use for $foo?" is almost always going to be, "Not Linux, try FreeBSD|OpenBSD|OmniOS|SmartOS|NetBSD first."@nuintari Let me know the day you can't build your own kernel, a custom install image, or something that truly affects usability. Because the way I see it, if having a graphical installer and a GUI helps FreeBSD gain more traction, users, port maintainers, and funding, that would be a compromise I’d be willing to accept, even if it affected me, which it doesn’t.

To be fair, in my not so humble opinion, the answer to, "Which Linux distro should I use for $foo?" is almost always going to be, "Not Linux, try FreeBSD|OpenBSD|OmniOS|SmartOS|NetBSD first."@nuintari IMO, the foundation is just responding to criticism from FreeBSD users. Development and attracting more users couldn’t happen without improving laptop support, which includes better WiFi and optionally a GUI.

-- At the address of your new offices? Over fiber? That doesn’t make any sense.
Client: Look "kid", we’re a big corporation with offices all over the world, we know exactly what we're doing and what we need. If you're not capable of delivering, we have no problem finding someone who is.
-- (5 seconds pause) No problem. It’s been a pleasure working with you.
Now let’s wait and see how long it takes them to realize that in the part of the city where they’ve chosen to open the branch, there’s only one ISP with its own infrastructure, and all the others piggyback on that same one.

I saw something disturbing this morning.@stefano All jokes aside, wouldn’t a proper accounting department question an unscheduled or unbudgeted expense just because the invoice says "pay now", specially without any warning?

I saw something disturbing this morning.@stefano That's only dangerous if a potential victim has 20k spare change laying around
