"Traditional values" must have novel at some point.
Except they weren't, because the whole concept is recently made up revisionist ideology.

Oh of course. I must have misread the intent of the poll.
I want a T-shirt that reads. UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY.
I *think* I have the bugs worked out of memory management for MP/M... And the arithmetic needed in every Z80 memory- reference is fast enough.
Wow it's fun to watch mp/m manage resources. Enter DIR at the console, the resident portion of which is only the command line editor, it's passed to a system-wide command line parser, which requests a bank of memory, then loads DIR ("ls"), a runtime disk resident program. DIR does it's thing then quits, and the memory freed.
Longer-running programs are started the same way, them Control-D can detach it from the console, and it continues to run (not sure yet how console out is handled in that case; likely lost). From another console (originally intended to be a desktop type serial terminal, close or far away) you can attach that running program.
It's all very weird and both primitive and sophisticated. And runs on an 8080, a CPU with only the barest concept of a stack. Argument passing is very 1960.
When I get it shaken out I'll make some brief movies.
THEN I can think about running CBBS in a console and think about how to connect it to the Internet. Maybe Fujinet.
Yes. But the question comes down to, when is it ok to shit on your peers?
Why would the rules for polite and rational discussion need qualifying?
Or does "speak negatively" just mean "shit talk the other"?
Hmmm but fucking with signifiers is a good idea.
Putting Mexican flag stickers on all cars here. Concerns of nationalism are immaterial. It's both positive support, if symbolic, and dilutes Mexican folks standout on the road for ice scouts.
Examples of friends' posts I don't need to read:
Comments on politics and haps in the world.
Their blog output, I read that elsewhen.
People who I talk with regularly so the posts are mostly redundant.
Unbelieveably honorable, truthful, and hardworking people (I know personally or not) that I can't stand that much daily truth, honestly. Which is not the same as denial, though that's in the next row over.
People who I know for X, but they post about Y, that I don't care about.
Etc.
So the other day I found the fedi pissing me off. No wait! Don't hate me yet! You can subtly infer why from a subsequent post.
Anyway off-pissing is of course my own fault, a side effect of choices made. So I spent about an hour on the config side of my account and did some pruning.
I consciously decided to intuitively prune who I follow, and interestingly, separately, who followed me.
The first, I went down the list, looked at the name, and assessed how I felt about my relationships with that person's posts. Which is surprisingly little to do with do I like and respect the person. I actually un-followed some people I know face to face in real life, as well as the obvious, 'oh half of what X posts annoys me', the obvious target of such pruning. I was surprised by the assessments.
Probably cut follows by half or more.
But unfollowing actual friends... is weird and interesting. It really has no bearing on my face to face relationship. In fact this coupling has long bothered me about online interactions vs real life. Consistency is not a human virtue. One of my best friends in LA I have zero social-media-type connections with. We don't need it and having it would detract, not enhance. So it's very tl;dr and interesting and topic ... for face to face convo.
The second, I went to follows-me, then whatever selections to show dormant accounts, and started at the end. I removed every follower that hadn't posted in 2025 (somewhat arbitrary, I know). Though since they're obviously not posting, since dormant, and I can't form an opinion (OK I can but I didn't), I pruned them because I'm a dyed in the wool Yankee (New England resident) and frugality is always the tie-breaker. Less is better, pretty much always. Less load on fedi servers.
I CAN'T RAVE ENOUGH ABOUT HOW WONDERFUL THE ABILITY TO DO THIS IS. The authors of this collective software we poke around it had a vision and its a pretty damn good one. The ability to see this data and connections is amazing.
Ok progress on MP/M... Got three consoles running, with banked memory. Performance seems good, with an initial half assed check. LOL preemptive multiuser multitasking on a z80.
Aspects of banked memory still confuse me and are poorly documented or I can't find it (hence missing 4th TMP) but I'll find it.
I fully realize that not many more than zero people are interested in horrid old 8-bit operating systems, but MP/M II for the 8080 (!) is pretty badass.
1981!
