@inquiline Why do people hate the hawk?

all the little birds hate it because it's a hypothetical and perhaps actual threat to their babies (so, entirely understandable). earlier when it was more nesting season they'd take turns taking half-hearted swipes at it *except the mockingbird* who does not half-ass it at all. not shown: the mockingbird making contact with the hawk and then rounding up to bomb it again

*as for people, the hawk is a celebrity, one neighbor said it goes in her birdbath
