Would you join a local Fediverse Club if one was available?

Thanks to everyone who answered. We have an active Fediverse scene here in Montreal, but not yet a formal club. I would join it if we had one, though!

I'll give you some of my own ideas for what a Fediverse Club might do after the poll is over.

@Bodling now that the poll is over: I'd expect a Fediverse Club to work kind of like a Linux Users Group (LUG):

- bring together local people interested in the Fediverse to talk about Fediverse topics
- advocate for social web use in the local community
- help with onboarding (maybe something like an installfest...?)
- develop or support local tools (for example, an RSS gateway for the city government blog)
- be a gateway for local people to connect to a national or global movement

Yes. I first joined a Swedish server (here in Sweden) and then I started my own which I run on a physical device, so it’s very local.

It would be cool to have a directory of Fediverse-focused clubs and similar organisations. I wonder who owns fediverse.club...?

@evan interestingly, both fediverse.club and fedi.club were registered on the same day but records are private, as you must have seen
