@theintercept @Binder Part of the problem of this is that there are violent extremists on both ends of the political spectrum, and neither side will admit it, so everything defaults to “Of course it must be those guys who oppose us politically.”

They don’t want it to be anyone on “their side”.

In this case they certainly don’t want it to be anyone on their side with mental issues, which they cut funding to properly address and manage.

Those are off the table for discussion. Ergo, Damn those lefties!

@reay @Binder @theintercept "violent extremists on both sides" Over the past decade there has been maybe one act of violence by people on the left a year and all the other violence has been by people on the right. Kirk and Trump were both shot by a right winger. Yes there are violent people on "both sides" but that's like saying vaccines and the disease both cause harm. Its not a false statement, there is microscopic rarity that a vaccine can do some harm, but most of the damage is done by the disease its actively preventing.
