Dammit. I otherwise like my Framework laptop, but this is the second time this has happened in 18 months of use.

I really love how the current state of Li-ion batteries in consumer devices is, "You will do massive damage to your device if you have the audacity to want to use all the battery by keeping it charged to 100%. It's your own fault if and when something goes wrong, really. What were you thinking?"

Framework is replacing my laptop battery again (but it's out of stock). They're not literally saying this, but turns out they posted https://community.frame.work/t/61wh-battery-lifetime-extender-functionality-and-warranty/59580 a few days after my first failure last year, which I didn't know about until now.

I didn't even know there was a BIOS limit option, and didn't know there was a new BIOS to automatically manage battery cycling. I'm just thinking of the state of the industry as a whole, the fact that phone manufacturers say to only charge to 80%, etc.

@ryan this is stupid. 100% should be the maximum you can charge to. If you can only safely charge to 48Wh, make that 100%.
