One way people get into trouble is by wrapping their identity up in their political opinions (or other way around maybe). I did this as a young adult-- wanted to be the edgy guy who had their number, wound up doing/saying some cringey shit.
Form political views by observing the world, learning the facts, and applying morality as best you can. Don't make it who you are, because your view of yourself is much harder to change than your views on the world.
