So I'm setting my new parents-in-law's laptop up. It's a nice new machine and pretty quick (12th gen Intel, SSDs, etc) so I stuck KDE (Kubuntu) on it.
Everything worked until they tried to use KeepassXC with Firefox. Apparently if you use the "Snap" version of Firefox on Ubuntu, it can't talk to KeepassXC. I ended up "snap remove firefox" and adding the mozillateam PPA and installing it via .deb.
Snap, Flatpak.. all that shit just needs to go away. It's a nice idea, in theory, but they don't even sandbox properly and when they do, they break stuff. It's so short-sighted.
Just say no to Snap.
