Instead of "space mirrors", has anyone ever considered "space cooking"?

I mean: Imagine you had little plots of land floating in space, where you could grow vegetables (e.g. potatoes).

Now, all you need for cooking is heat.
So why not drop that tater to earth and letting gravity and the atmosphere do the rest?

I am calling this concept "space fries".
