Mycena pseudocorticola, Helmet bark mushroom, really tiny. You can see that by the size of the moss petals in the picture. I took this photo because of a windstorm that uprooted a large oak tree near the edge of the forest. It fell into the meadow, was cut to pieces and so I had access to the moss covered branches. I found only a few millimetre sponges of two species on the multi-tonne oak. So tiny, so inconspicuous in an ecosystem that was created on a huge old tree.
