Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting that it's hopeless or to give up. What I'm saying is that playing the "game" as it presently exists is pointless. The game is rigged against us.
What I'm saying is that the only way to "win" is to play a different game, with different rules. The only way to "win" is to redefine what that "winning" means.

I didn't CW this because it's not an exclusively American issue. It's a problem that exists in many Western democracies at the moment.
And the thing is, it's not a coordination problem. It's not an issue that can only be resolved by everyone voting a specific way. It's a change in your own perspective, which you have full control over. Start with yourself, and show others the way through your lived example.
Be the change you wish to see in the world.

@malcircuit The root cause of the problem is, the society has for a long while allowed the antisocial people to make most of its rules.

@riley @malcircuit A funny thing that appeared in my timeline today is that the latest presidents except Obama are exactly the same age. And I think, it's not just the age or the generation, it's exactly the same gang of people that has been ruling the US.

@yuki2501 In USSR, the same thing happened about fifteen years before the end. They called it gerontocracy.
