Jokes aside, both initiatives come from the same core desire to restrict what users can and cannot use, limiting it only to what they (Google) can control.

Of course the impact of the new development restrictions are much more invasive, and will have a massive impact on … basically anyone with a mobile device (yes, indirectly this will also affect Apple users).

@AleF2050 no problem, drop all the fuck bombs you want, this fully deserves it. Even though, sadly, it's not really surprising. This has been in preparation for years, if not decades. We're just now approaching the point of convergence. It's completely masks off.

@oblomov can we also add the AI bundled with Chrome?

Full access to your phone data was not enough: let's also access everything you do on the web (if you even do anything without an app nowadays).

@en3py I have the luck of not using Chrome, so I hardly know about the BS they pull there, but of course that goes right in (double points for the Chrome dev team complaining about not having enough resources to fix the security issue of XSLT, but apparently enough to build in the massive security and privacy hole that is the AI integration with Chrome)
