kinda?
I don't think it makes sense to choose Trump over what the Dems are offering, but I think lots of people don't think the Dems are doing much for them. imo they should go Bernie but Dems effectively closed that door twice. #RankedChoiceVoting would give us a lot more options and make us do more than shit talk "the other side".
but then it takes a lot to find media making this case too. the mainstream and the anti mainstream dominate.

william.maggos You're deflecting with a false dichotomy. I present a valid criticism of the Dems, and you, like a good TDS patient, decided to make it about Trump.
I know this will blow your mind (or more likely, will be dismissed without a thought), but it's possible to be critical of a political party without throwing in your lot with a different party.
If you honestly think Bernie is the future of liberalism†, then you should NOT be supporting the current party that has shut him out twice. That you support them anyway only proves you can't see past the this "us-vs-them" dichotomy.
The real irony is when you talk about wanting some kind of ranked-choice voting system (which I agree with). But while your words say you want real choice beyond the two parties, your actions - siding with an evil party because you think the other is worse - continue to reinforce the power of the plurality system.
† I don't; I think the party has saved itself twice, because socialism is a recipe for widespread poverty, economic disaster, and more social inequality than even the most TDS-addled SJWs imagine in their darkest nigtmares. World history agrees with me.

somebody will get elected. when you have a real voice in who that is, I suggest lesser evil (every vote is really lesser evil unless you're the candidate). but when you're in a non swing state, I suggest voting third party.
you must have read me writing this at least 10x.
of course there's down ballot races too.

@wjmaggos
If you actually want third parties to be viable, you have to support them NOW, even if you don't think they can win this election or the next one. It's not about $CURRENT_ELECTION. It's about momentum and popular sentiment (something the left is far better at, historically). You can't just sit around waiting for ranked choice to come along before suddenly switching to a third party.
I feel stupid for even saying this, but why would the two entrenched plurality parties EVER allow a meaningful change to the election system, if they know that they've got your full support under the current system? -

I still vote for them (and when they win, the establishment often still freezes us out as many are doing with Mamdani).
but as somebody who clearly doesn't want anybody anywhere on the left to win any election, I will not be taking your advice, when doing so will obviously only help your interests in the short term.
think of parties as only tools in our system, not teams.
