All the pro gun arguments are nonsensical. I wish I could have an open conversation with the gun people about what they really want (security? Freedom from tyranny? Self esteem?) because there are a million better ways to achieve all of that

Yes, actually, you should be required to vaccinate your children. I'm sorry it feels like tyranny for you but that's because you're ignorant. The experts and academics do in fact know more than you. You do not have a right to endanger your children or the general public. Individual freedom has always had a boundary at public good, look it up

One way people get into trouble is by wrapping their identity up in their political opinions (or other way around maybe). I did this as a young adult-- wanted to be the edgy guy who had their number, wound up doing/saying some cringey shit.
Form political views by observing the world, learning the facts, and applying morality as best you can. Don't make it who you are, because your view of yourself is much harder to change than your views on the world.
