I consider using Krita for my 24 hour comic in two weeks.@oblomov I'll do it in CSP, just to make sure I got full control over stuff like bleed (I've done it there before).
I'm not trying to prove anything, just work in a comfortable way.

Bunny and Goth!Bunny and Goth!
Still working on a more simplified render for their sheets, but I think these might make cool stickers.Context: I've been wanting to make some original characters for a while. Doing more risque art with characters that aren't mine just doesn't feel right to me, and I really struggle to sex up any of my existing characters.
I've had these two characters on my mind for a while.
Bunny Girl just appeared one day as I was trying to draw(and failing at drawing) another character.
I wanted something fun, so she just became that, a character who brings balloons and champagne to celebration. Drawing her just lifts my mood too.
Goth girl is her opposite in a way, but not really... there is a bond between them, but I'll delve into that another day.(in reality I don't think I'd like to meet any of these girls, I cant stand the sound of balloons popping, and smoking smells bad)

I consider using Krita for my 24 hour comic in two weeks.@oblomov Unless they've added it recently, it doesn't, I checked earlier.
If I use Krita, I plan to make the exact files ahead of time, with the dimensions I need. So I can just drag them into Clipstudio at the end and export the PDF I need that way. Not ideal, but at least I know it will work.

I consider using Krita for my 24 hour comic in two weeks.@yon At the moment its mainly about my existing workflow, and all the comic related features you find in CSP, mainly EX, which I use.
Clipstudio is designed for comics and manga especially, and can even be used for animation(a lot of animators use it).
Krita seems, at least on first glance, to be a much more basic drawing program, which is fine, but I'll need to figure out workarounds to mimic the features I miss from CSP.
But in the context of a 24 hour comic, I'll probably not use many of those features anyway as my goal is to just produce pages as fast as possible. If I can put lines on the paper and color them in a satisfying way, it should be enough.
Though I have to sit there for 24 hours, so I also need it to be as comfortable as I can make it...

First, a good way to brute force me learn the program, and it just runs so much better than CSP does through the Windows VM.But then do I want the extra difficulty of using an unfamiliar program through such a maraton?
I'll try to at least familiarize me with the basics first.
Also, seems like I still need to paste it all into CSP at the end to render the PDF, but that shouldn't be an issue. -
Finished Skies of Arcadia on Gamecube again yesterday, for first time in like 23 years...Finished Skies of Arcadia on Gamecube again yesterday, for first time in like 23 years...
Aged surprisingly well, despite slow animations in ship combat, weird translations and the endgame being a bit on the easy side (one attack murders all bosses, so all you do is turtle up and use that attack over and over)...
Still remains one of my favorites, and one game I'd really hope gets a remaster some day.Funny thing is, I remember originally playing this just as I started reading One Piece for the first time, so everything about it really reminds me of early Alabasta-arc One Piece.

Been using Debian 13 for a few days and I enjoy it so much.@oblomov I submitted some feedback about wanting a Linux version, and I know I'm not alone considering what Microsoft and Apple are up to.
Can hope they listen if enough people tell them this? Crazier things have happened...At least I don't need Adobe anymore.

I'm not a power user or anything, but I find my way around. But I've forgotten how good it feels to have a system where I can customize stuff again!-I'm using KDE Plasma, and its just cool to be able to add my own flavors to everything, little by little.
-Everything just worked, hardware wise, I had no issues. no janky drivers or bluetooth device that wouldn't connect or anything.
-Didn't get it for gaming, but gaming worked as well as I could expect on this hardware. I checked out benchmarks and Elden Ring wouldn't really be running better in Windows anyway.
-And no joke, this was way easier to install and set up than the newest version of Windows! No stupid accounts to set up, no souls to sell. Just had to make that one USB boot drive, but I'll have to do that if I ever install Windows again outside an VM anyway...
For an average user, I honestly can't see much point in Windows anymore and only reasons its still sticking around on my Desktop for now are because of CSP and Nvidia...Speaking of Clipstudio Paint:
The Virtual Machine running Windows for this one program, is still fairly slow and I don't know if I can do anything to speed it up. Luckily, CSP itself runs fine, and I'll stress test it soon enough... I'll be joining a 24 hour comic event in less than a month! -
Just some slow #WIP while I'm working on other things.Just some slow #WIP while I'm working on other things.

New laptop up and running.Okay, I think I'm starting to push it.
Elden Ring runs, though not great...Good news: controller seems to be plug and play, I tested the Switch Pro controller just for fun...

New laptop up and running. And just because I enjoy pain and suffering so much, here's Dark Souls 3 on a laptop trackpad.

Debian 13, running Clipstudio through a Windows 10 guest. Guess this is as good as it gets until it can run natively or I figure out Krita. This isn't my main system, but one I plan to use to learn and test, and of course use to take art with me.

It took ONE HOUR.I can honestly say the Debian installer is way easier at this point, at least if you just want to use a system casually:
You pick your language and time zone, type your network password and wait for the bar to fill. Then you pick your passwords and whenever some option pops up, the default one is usually good (though I prefer KDE Plasma over Gnome personally). For Windows 11, its much the same, except it picks the languages for you, the bars takes much longer, and you have to decline at least 20 offers when Microsoft wants to spy on you at the end.
Also you can't halt it halfway through and at one point MS sends you an email to activate a code. I need to be in an OS to read my email. I'm very happy I already had another PC or this one would be a brick.
