A federal judge has dismissed a climate lawsuit brought by 37 Puerto Rican municipalities against the fossil fuel industry.
Judge Silvia Carreño Coll said the lawsuit's racketeering and antitrust claims were "barred by the applicable statute of limitations" while dismissing all the claims against Chevron, Shell, BP, and other fossil fuel defendants, according to a 125-page omnibus opinion and order filed on Sept. 11.
On Sunday, there will be a protest against the remilitarization in #PuertoRico in front of one of USA’s bases here.
This remilitarization is caused by the Trump admin doing a show of force against Venezuela’s government.
The USA government meddling in Latin America’s affairs has always brought misery and destruction. And we are not OK with interventionism, regardless of excuses.

It’s been almost 10 years since the USA Congress proposed the PROMESA Act. The austerity measures implemented as well as striking down laws by the Fiscal Oversight Board has taken a heavy toll on all of us.
The situation in Puerto Rico is untenable: the Trump admin fired 6 out of 7 members of the FOMB after Laura Loomer reported on this. And the “progress” done negotiating a deal with bondholders has been nullified.

This is still a slap on the wrist. But on the land of impunity, even a small glimpse of justice is a water well in the middle of a desert.

Yesterday former Puerto Rico governor Wanda Vazquez pleaded guilty to campaign finance laws.
Few noteworthy things about her:
Wanda replaced a governor that the people forced to resign due to his overall incompetence among many other things. She was not elected.
She was also the secretary of the Department of Justice. She *was* the personification of protest suppression.
