@elena I see you already have a well-configured and attractive Ghost site. The Docker version of Ghost is easy to install. Follow the instructions here to the letter: https://docs.ghost.org/install/docker . It's important that the server on which you install Docker and Ghost is clean and has no other packages installed, such as MySQL or a web server. A (sub)domain must then point to the server. The installer expects a freshly host, and anything you do differently may cause conflicts or configuration errors.

@abeorch as @alex pointed out, it may be something related to my CPU and "some requests falling into timeout". I can easily check because I have several other Fediverse accounts... and some messages take 10-15 minutes to show up in the other feeds. Plus, now that I have 2,000+ followers on this account, it's a telltale sign of federation delay when I post something and I get complete silence - no interactions - for 10+ minutes. I'll check my VPS logs now...

@arosano aw thank you! for now she respects the rules we set and sticks to them...one of my proudest little achievements is teaching her that Barbie dolls have impossible bodies that do not reflect reality... so she plays with different (more realistic, non-sexualized) dolls instead and rejects Barbies altogether.hoping that I can have a positive impact on her tech use in the future.her cousin got a Furby last Christmas and now my little one wants "a talking robot" - I told her I'll get her one that is more intelligent, so that she doesn't have to bend to the Furby rules and speak in a way that Furby understands. I find it creepy and non-educational TBH. Now researching robot making projects for my Raspberry Pi 5 ​

@jon thank you Jon! People keep recommending Tailscale to me... I will definitely read your piece and look into it.I just figured out how to turn on the Firewall for my Hetzner server, where I have Docker installed.One thing at a time ​

@antoine_ali when OVH reactivated my VPS I rushed to uninstall Docker... and found - after the process was complete - that I had left the TLS certs in the root folder ‍️​

@growfediverse haha thank you! ️ I’m planning to install Docker on my VPS this morning. I’m really excited… will definitely chronicle the whole journey, all the ups and downs…I’m even tempted to take online courses for more formal sysadmin training 🤭
